AIDS Walk Cometh! October 2008 - Get Involved Now!

Visit Aunt Rita's Foundation to make a donation now, or find out how you can get involved and help out! I sent them a letter offering my involvement today:

Thank you Aunt Rita's Foundation for all that you do. And thank you for making the Sisters welcome last night. We really enjoyed meeting everyone and hearing all the wonderful plans!

I for one am very much looking forward to participating in AIDS Walk of the Valley in 2008. Please let me know how I can be of help in the mean time! (You did mention needing help) Perhaps I could organize a fundraiser.

For now, let me offering this blessing:

Prayer for the AIDS walk

Great Spirit, whose voice we hear in the wind,

Whose breath gives life to all the world. Hear us!

We need your strength and wisdom.

Let us walk in oh so fabulous beauty, and make our eyes ever behold the rainbows in the skies and our bodies.

Make our hands honor the people you have made (preferably multiple times a day) and our ears sharp to hear your voice and the voices of those we walk for.

Make us wise so that we may understand the things you have taught us through the years.

Help us to remain calm and strong in the face of all that comes towards us. (yes even the gay drama)

Let us learn the lessons you have hidden in every leaf and rock along this great AIDS walk.

Help us seek sponsors aplenty, and act with the intention of helping others.

Help us find compassion without overwhelming empathy

We seek strength, not to be greater than others, but to fight AIDS and have a blast doing it! (and any of the hotties we “meat” along the way)

We ask this in the name of all who have gone before us, the nuns of the above and below, and whatever spiritual entities you may believe in!

Ahmen, Ahwomen, Ahhhwhatever!
