Their Support Groups provide a place where individuals have a safe place to share those experiences and empathize with one another in a safe setting. Coping skills, facing life’s challenges and developing support systems are just a few of the benefits HIV-positive individuals gain from attending regularly scheduled meetings.
The Women's Health Empowerment program provides presentations regarding safe, sexual practices, counseling and testing.
The Youth Empowerment Program (YEP) uses the MPowerment model to create an environment that allows youth ages 14-24 to create social, interpersonal and intrapersonal relationships and helps to build community among the target population.
The Southwest Center for HIV/AIDS also offers children's programs that help our youngest community members deal with issues of HIV or just have fun for a while! Programs include:
